And
More
Other crew members include
makeup technicians, special effects technicians, and craft services specialists with
relevant experience earned during years with the Austin-based charity spook houses
Britannia Manor and Haunted Trails.
Britannia Manor,
operated biannually in the 1980s and early 1990s by computer games pioneer Richard
Garriott (aka Lord British), benefitted Austin's Zachary Scott Theater. In its final
year of operation (1994), it was attended by movie personalities including John
Rhys-Davis and Mark Hamill.
Haunted
Trails, initially made up largely of Britannia Manor veterans, has been run
annually since the earlier spook house shut its doors. Its revenues benefit the
Austin-area Wild Basin nature preserve.
Sabrecat Productions, LLC
The production company managing the Deadbacks project was formed in February 2005.
Although the company was formed recently, it is also
a company structure for a creative partnership that goes back more than two
decades.
Sabrecat Productions, LLC's managers, Aaron Allston
and Denis Loubet, have been contributors to and collaborators on numerous projects
dating back to 1982, when Loubet provided the cover and interior illustrations for
one of Allston's earliest writing projects. In the years since, Allston and Loubet
have collaborated on nearly twenty published projects.
